Module 6: Responsible AI & Final Assessment

AI Skills for Work & Everyday Life

Final Module 2 Hours Beginner Final Assessment

Welcome to Module 6

Welcome to the final module of the AI Skills for Work & Everyday Life programme. This module focuses on using artificial intelligence responsibly, safely, fairly and effectively.

Important: Complete the lessons below before attempting the final assessment. You must achieve at least 70% to unlock your certificate.

Learning Outcomes

Understand responsible AI use.
Protect personal and sensitive information.
Identify inaccurate or misleading AI information.
Recognise bias and fairness issues.
Apply human oversight when using AI.
Demonstrate practical AI knowledge.

Lesson 6.1 — What Is Responsible AI?

Responsible AI means using artificial intelligence in ways that are safe, ethical, transparent and beneficial to people.

AI should support people rather than remove human responsibility. Users should understand the limitations of AI and take responsibility for decisions made using AI-generated information.

Remember: AI can assist you, but you remain responsible for how you use its output.

Lesson 6.2 — Privacy & Personal Information

Never share unnecessary personal, confidential or sensitive information with an AI system.

Examples of information that should be protected include passwords, banking information, identity numbers and private documents.

Good practice: Before entering information into an AI tool, ask yourself whether you would be comfortable sharing that information publicly.

Lesson 6.3 — AI Accuracy & Misinformation

AI systems can sometimes provide incorrect, incomplete or outdated information.

Important information should therefore be checked against reliable sources before being used or shared.

Think before you share: AI-generated information should not automatically be treated as fact.

Lesson 6.4 — Bias & Fairness

AI systems learn from data created by people. If that data contains bias, an AI system may reproduce or amplify that bias.

Responsible AI users should look for unfair assumptions, discrimination and unequal treatment.

Lesson 6.5 — Human Oversight

Human oversight means that people review and evaluate AI outputs, especially when decisions could have significant consequences.

AI should be treated as a tool that supports human judgement, not as a replacement for responsible decision-making.

Lesson 6.6 — Final Practical Project

For your final practical activity, think of a real task where AI could help you in everyday life or at work.

Consider what information you would provide, how you would check the AI's answer and what risks you would need to manage.

Final principle: Use AI confidently, but always use your own judgement.
